CONVOY FROM CU CHI TO TAY NINH
Vietnam

This page is dedicated to those who drove the tankers, delivering fuel to outlying bases.  A tanker drivers' day - up at 4 AM, on to the tank farm to load, back to the checkpoint for convoy formation, on the road to Pleiku at 7 AM.  Through mountain passes, up and down narrow roads, through forests with no vegetation left because of Agent Orange.   The life of a tanker driver was scary, but someone had to do it - even an 18-year-old kid from the projects of Boston.  Without the tankers, no fuel would have made it to the bases.  The tankers were rolling targets for ambush and the lifeblood for the receiving bases.

These men didn't seek glory. They didn't have the opportunity to gain fame as the grunts did. These men drove their vehicles to almost every region and place in Vietnam. The simple fact is "All were HEROES" Some returned home some did not.........
